My desk top Gateway EV700
I can not use my desk top at the moment. For some reason when I turn on the computer it is asking for some kind of password. It doesn't let you type anything in and after 3 trys it just sits there. Any advice on how to bypass or find the password that will open and let me back into the computer.

What Linux distribution or OS are you running?
What desktop environment, or window manager?
Is it waiting for a GRUB password?
