I just installed fedora 6 on my Toshiba laptop, everything went fine except that the RealTek 8139 NIC is not detected.

lspci shows the it as unknown device..
ifconfig -a only shows lo but no eth*
lsmod doesn't have any modules for 8139
dmesg | grep eth doesn't show anything.

I've tried depmod 8139too and then the module shows up in lsmod but still can't find the device in /proc/net/dev

I've googled for possible solution but couldn't find any that worked for me.

any help will be appreciated.
