No sound. Help?
Hello all!
I'm new to this forum and Linux in general.
Being fed up with Windows, I decided to switch to SuSE 10.2.
The thing is that I need to learn to find my way around the new environment, which has been a real pleasure so far.
I've installed all the latest updates for Gnome and I've configured pretty much most of the system.
However I don't seem to be able to get my sound card to work. No sound at all.
I tried to configure the card through YAST, but to avail.
I should mention that I have a Sound blaster 5.1 sound card and an on-board Realtek ALC201A (AC97) audio chipset.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Try disabling the onboard soundcard from the bios and then see if opensuse will recognise the sound blaster.
