Mounting DVD Burner freezes computer.
Whenever I start my computer with a cd/dvd in the drive, the computer ends up freezing after a minute or so. The same also happens if I insert it after boot. The dvd burner is recognized in Gnome Baker. I have played with the jumper settings, and that had no effect. The dvd drive is IDE, and I have a sata HD. If someone could please shed some light on this, I would be most appreciative.
The drive is a Samsung SH-S182D, and my motherboard is a Asus M2N.
I have had this problem on both Ubuntu and Arch linux.

Comment out automount option in /etc/auto.misc file and try to mount the CD manually and check if the problem persists.
