    i installed SuSe 10.2 in Dell Inspriron 5000 and it worked like charm. no problem at all. thats my friend's machine and i couldn't try any other distro ( He is happy with SuSe ) and i believe that all other distros will also work perfectly.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
