Acer Travelmate 723TX, with no cdrom to boot from: how difficult is THAT!
hehehehehe.....
I have xp running rings round my mind. I give up with these BSoD'ss... Im tired of c:\ .. 'n wanna /dev/hda now.. what Im sayin is, I wanna ditch ol Billy n move on up: I wanna install ImpiLinux. Now, considering impi is based on debian, with some stuff borrowed from knoppix, I thinks it should allow me to install without having a cd in the drive.. see, the cds rom has given up its ghost... :(
OK. available, I now have a Pii laptop, with 192 MB SDRAM, 1x 3.5" floppy disk drive (bios sez I can boot from it), 1 x 10 GB HDD ( 1 partition, runnin XPensive PROstitute), ir port, 1 x USB 1.1, 1 x 4 port USB hub (smile, I had to find a way to connect my cellfone AND my flashdrive at once :)), an internal modem Ive never used cos it has an RJ45 plug, and we use RJ11 and it says analogue lines only, 1x 256 MB Flash disk, a cover cd with impi, a Samsung DVD-R/CD-RW in a USB case(Cant boot from it, or the flashdrive) and a lotta enthusiasm!!
ANYONE wanna offer some advice, or a way forward? I cannot boot from CD. I tried various floppy images with no success. I can get grldr to run from boot.ini, and thats it. Anyone? Please? Im begging? Pleaaaaaassssseeeeee?
