Dial up modem stopper
how's she cuttin'
i read somewhere (i can't remember where) that there is a little box you can but that detects incoming signals when someone is trying to ring and then logs you off the internet so you can take the call. has anyone heard of something like this? i twould be much obliged if info could be given.

I've heard of them, and I'm pretty sure that they're available in most retail stores that sell electronics (at least hear in the states). I'll bet you can find one online, though I'm not sure where.

Our local telecommunications company (also an isp) offers a software solution called Internet Call Director. Here's a short demo of it:

Maybe your isp offers something similar?
