Fn keys not working on my notebook
I'm using openSUSE 11.0, GNOME on HP Compaq NC6000.
For some reason openSUSE disables some function keys on my notebook. For example, I can't control LCD brightness, can't switch to the external display... It seems as the keyboard layout is messed up.
I looked in YaST > Hardware > Keyboard Layout, there is no keyboard layout for NC6000 (another HP computer is selected by default).
When using Gparted Live CD all Fn keys are working fine. Also in good old MS-DOS I can control brightens without loading any keyboard drivers.
I also installed Fedora 11 on my notebook and there I can control brightness as well.
What should I do to enable function keys in openSUSE?
I would prefer not to use setkeycodes, Xmodmap, etc.
My PC knows how to handle Fn keys. Only openSUSE messes it up. By the way during the openSUSE splash screen I can control brightens. It only stops working after login.
