Getting IEEE1394 to work for DV

I have ieee1394. It appears that it is not built into the kernel, i.e.:

What is the esiest way to do this. I have never done any kernel tweaking yet, but it is now time. Is this just something I need to "turn on" or do I have to rebuild the kernel.
