GSM for Linux?
I need a GSM compatible with Linux. I want to connect it to my computer via USB cable and backup my phonebook, sms, upload java applications, music and so on. I want to use my GSM to connect to the Internet. The model must have following features:
- mini USB port
- mobile Java
- embedded modem
- at least 10 mb of memory or slot for micro SD card
- NO camera
With "compatible with Linux" I mean there must be direvers and software for Linux.
I expect your offers :)
I don't know if there are any mobile phones that have full compatibility with linux.
Uptil now every phone I used I could get connected and synchronized with linux in one way or another.
at this moment I'm using a Nokia N95, and to my needs it has a good support in Linux. only for upgrading the firmware I use a Virtual Machine ( or connect it to my laptop with Windows whichever is close )
Hope this information is usefull
What do you think about Nokia 3109? Did anybody use it with Linux?
