IMPORTANT question on ext3
i have two 120gb hd, one formatted with NTFS and the other with ext3, but with ext3 i have only 183000 megz and with ntfs i can use 120000
why is this so
and what i want to know, too, ext3 reserves e.g. 5% of my drive for the super user, what does this mean?
is it very important or can i set this option to 0.5 % ??
thx in advance
Re: IMPORTANT question on ext3
I'm confused. You're getting 180GB out of a 120GB drive? Due to harddrive geometry and the actual size of a byte, 120GB drives are not actually 120GB (117.18GB or something like that). I've found that in XP regardless of the size of my drive, it refuses to format the last 8MB of disk space, whereas in Linux I do not have that problem.
