Looking for a good 1/4 Inch input for audio recording

Hi,

I'm looking for a a 1/4 inch input that is supported for recording with Ardour. Any suggestions?

you could always buy a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter plug for a few bucks at your local radioshack

I actually have a couple but I would rather not lose the signal quality if possible.

I don't know of any computer audio components that take 1/4" directly. There may be consoles that attach via some connector bus to the system audio board that will take 1/4", but I don't know what they are. Sorry.
