Make 5.1 sound card stereo
I have a 5.1 sound card (I think thi is the correct term it has side, rear, c/sub and main out outputs) but am only able to use a TV with stereo input as monitor/speakers.
The sound is kind of incomplete, I can hear parts of songs missing when I play them.
I have the osund set to Analogue Stere output but when I test the speakers only the right one works.
Is there anyway I can disable the other outputs and just have a stereo output?
The computer has a HDMI output but the sound from that doesn't work at all. Also I wasn't able to set the screen resolution to one that worked.
I'm running Ubuntu 11.04
This is the output I get from cat /proc/asound/cards
