Do you need a fairly new motherboard to have a new Nvida card work
as long as the mobo supports the agp version of the card (eg 8x 4x) Then they will work AFAIK.
Is there way to check what mother board you have and what type and version it is
Are you asking because you bought a new card and it doesn't work or you're looking to buy a new card and wonder if it will work with your existing motherboard?Quote:

Well, sdousley pretty much answered it for you. But then it also depends on the interface of the video card, whether you're planning to buy an AGP or PCI-Express. If you're looking at PCI-Express, you'll most likely need a newer motherboard, but if you're going AGP, then you probably won't have to get a new motherboard, which also depends on if your current motherboard supports AGP 4x/8x or if it even has an AGP slot.
I am pretty sure it supports AGP
