MX5 Logitech Mouse
The mouse I got with the Logitech S510 desktop kit, an LX5 I think, has a wheel which can be tilted left and right. According to xev these movements send a keyboard scroll lock signal followed by a keyboard left or right cursor key signal. Does anyone know if there's a way I can use this information to, for example, go forward and back in a web browser? At the moment I can hold alt down, but I'd prefer it if I could do it with just the mouse.
Update: I think it's the LX5 not the MX5
Ok, I think what I need to do is map scroll lock to alt using xmodmap. Scroll lock doesn't even seem to work atm, the light seems to be always on.
I added mod1 = Scroll_Lock which had the desired result but then task switching mucked up, alt tab didn't work at all and mouse clicks only brought focus when the title bar was clicked.
