Partitioning with Gentoo
I have a Gentoo machine with several NTFS partitions available. I cannot write to those partitions, only read. I want to reformat those to FAT32 so I can write my Picture, MP3s etc to those like I did with Win2k as well as share them over my wireless network.
I am emerging Samba to help with the sharing part, but I am sorta stumped as to reformatting the partitions. Can someone help me out as to how to do this?
NTFS to FAT32 partitions are pretty impossible. Some commercial Windows programs such as Power Quest [now norton?] Partition Manager say that they can do this, but I haven't dared to touch it.
The reason for this is the same reason you can't write to NTFS partitions on linux without the windows NT kernel files, its so touchy :P
