Power Switching Supply?
Yesterday I came home to find my computer LED on but nothing else functional (fans, harddrives, and etc.). The reset and power switch was non functional. I unplugged the computer and cycled the psu switch. After plugging back in and turning on the psu switch, the computer fired up for about 2 seconds (cpu & case fans) then quit. However, the power LED remained on. I built the computer from scratch not quite 2 years ago. With the exception of Kernel & OS upgrades the computer is on 24/7 as I must access it from abroad.
My configuration is as follows:
Mother Board=MSI RS480 Radeon Xpress 200
CPU=AMD 3200+ socket 939
HD=2x 80gb Hitachi set up as LVM2
Optical=2x Liteon DVD+- w/rw
Ram=2x 512mb Kingston Pc 3200 ddr. Both are in the ddr slots(3&4).
Fans=2x case 1x cpu. Cpu & 1 case fan set to go high mode @ 45 C
PSU=500W Antec plugged into a surge protector.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks-Dave
Probably the power supply or the memory.
