Problem in installing ndiswrapper on Ubuntu
I have a really old system (P3, 300Mhz, 64 MB RAM) that I want to use as a thin client, and just use RDP to connect to a windows machine (for my Dad). I've managed to install Ubuntu base system and also installed iceWM.
The rdesktop works perfectly with what I have set up so far, but I am using the wired connection. I want to use my spareBelkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter on and use that to RDP to any other machines.
I looked up online if there were easy instructions, but I found that I have to install ndiswrapper and will be able to use my Windows driver. I found some instructions here:
I've downloaded the latest ndiswrapper from here and have extracted it using 'tar zxvf'. So far, so good...
Now to my problem:
As root, I've cd'd to the appropriate extracted directory
Under installation section, it asked to do a 'make distclean' and then 'make'.
'make distclean' works fine
'make' returns with errors:
/root/ndiswrapper-1.23/driver/ha1.c:122: error: syntax error before "KIRQL"
It repeats for few lines with similar errors. Then it says:
make: *** [/root/diswrapper-1.23/driver/hal.o] Error 1
make: *** [_module_/root/ndiswrapper-1.23/driver] Error 2
leaving directory ...
And basically it completes.
After this if I do a 'make install', it too returns with errors. I can post those too, if that would help.
Can someone help me in getting the ndiswrapper installed.
