Running memtest86 without cd-rom

I am trying to run memtest86, but I don't have a cd-rom on my computer, so I'm trying to run it using kexec.

I haven't found out how to boot the image using kexec.
I have tried to do this:

How do I boot from the memtest cd-rom image?

I'm not sure about using kexec but you should be able to run memtest using the USB version of Parted Magic.

You can also set it up as a boot option. Google "memtest86 grub".

The Grub menu on most of my systems has a memtest86 option for booting.

Yeah, my recollection was that it was generally there on RHEL-like systems, but I checked 14 RHEL5, 4 RHEL4, two CentOS 5, and four various Fedoras without finding it on any of them. Thank goodness for PKI authentication.
