Slow copy from CDROM
Hi guys
a simple inquirie, that I'm sure you'll have answers on :)
I have a problem with a cdrom of mine,
It work perfect Usualy... except under linux :)
I'm trying to copy from the cd to my HD, and the transfer rate is from 1.5Mb (rarely) to an average of 50Kb/Sec... which doesnt satisfy me at all!
I though that mabye the dma wasnt on... but it is...
I dont really know if any other param could change something... so here my reading on hdparm...
Code:
/sbin/hdparm /dev/hdc
/dev/hdc:
HDIO_GET_MULTCOUNT failed: Invalid argument
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 256 (on)
HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument
Thanks a lot for your suggestions

That is weird... I don't think this is it, but check what the dma settings are in the BIOS.
