hey. im in a bit of a pickle here. see, im getting these speakers
but they look weird because they seem to have a port they connect to sililar to a vga port. now. i dont realy want embeded sound, so im wondering what soundcard will support the 5.1 speakers, plus front audio out and in ports on the case. (so i guess 7.1 with the pins onboard to connect to front. now techiemoe seems to say that c-media makes good sound chips that are compatible with linux.) the problems i have with basic soundblaster is often poor linux support. so, i found this card, but im not shure if it realy does have the front audio port plug.
so, will that give me 5.1 and 2 channels and then will it work with those speakers? do i need a simple adapter or something?
i think im going to buy it but i still dont know if it is what i need. the specks seem good and the price is right but i realy dont know if those speakers will work.
any 5.1 sound card that will work in linux.... that d-sub on teh amp is just the connector at that end....at the soundcard end it is normal plugs
oh, ok. i did notice some sound cards with d-sub and parrellel ports on them. they weir wierd lookin. i think one of them was made by m-audio. they did have an adapter in the package though so does that mean it was just there way off fitting it on the card?
thanks for answering.
