Standard Kernel Doesn't Boot
I've mostly been using the Gentoo kernels in my system without any problem other than 2.6.12 and above being unable to mount CD-ROMs.
With my first vanilla kernel, 126.96.36.199, I am unable to boot my system past the very first few startup lines. The last four lines outputted by the kernel relate to my ACPI devices. Then, the screen just freezes. I can type, but only blue underscores appear across a line somewhat randomnly when I do. The exact same thing also happens with 2.6.13-rc2.
What is happening with this kernel?
