USB Laser printer

Samsung ml-1210 laser printer (USB)

If I switch the printer on before booting up it works fine in SuSE 8.2 (KDE 3.2.0). But if I switch it on after logging into X it doesn’t always work. No error message but nothing actually get to the printer, it just remains in the print queue.

Not a problem with USB because my mouse always works fine and my USB flash disk (pen drive) always gets recognized when I plug it in and remove it.

What do your cups logs say about it? Also can you see the USB connect in your syslog?
