Hello!!
I am rather fresh in the world of linux, and would so much enjoy having linux up and running here at home! :)
Why I don't have it yet ???
Well... My motherboard contains the, much spoken of, sil3112 controller. This can probably be fixed IF I had a regular ATA drive to boot from... well I don't. I only have a sweet Seagate Barracuda SATA drive.
Question: What distro can I use ?
(that would detect my hardware)
I know that I had Mandrake 9.1/XP dual boot on the 3112 SiI controller. I would imagine that most distros support it.
Edit: It was the onboard controller on an Abit NF7-S.
Well, both Mandrake 10.1 and Knoppix 3.7 failed to detect it...
I tried three Mandrake cds and all three failed badly. The installation hang atleast for half an hour.Quote:

Just wondering.. how long will these core editions be released? Won't there be a 1.0 or something?
Fedora Core 3 does the trick!!!
