Upgrading from RH 7.3 (yes, 7.3 !!!)
Hello there -
I found myself with two old RH 7.3 and a RH 8.0 server in my hands as gifts, and I wanted to ask you what would you suggest me for a system upgrade.
Is a full re-imaging of the servers the only solution I have, or are there realistic chances of doing a system upgrade to any existing distro (both servers have lot of live web content on them that would be a pain to reinstall)? And what tips can you give me in case of a system upgrade?
Thanks!

Hi MishaBear,
I'm probably in the minority here, (and maybe all by myself), but my feeling is, if the servers are doing their job in a uncritical capacity and not giving problems, I'd just leave them alone. On the other hand, if you want to upgrade, I'd recommend going with either RedHat Enterprise or CentOS which is an RHE clone, but without all the cool red hats.
Either should immediately recognise 7.3 and 8.0 (always had a soft spot in my heart for RH 8 ), and upgrade them accordingly. I had Red Hat 6 on one box and upgraded it to Fedora Core 3, which recognised the previous installation as RH6. I was impressed.
