Now it's gone and Right now the only way I know how to boot into my windows partition is by booting to a Gparted CD. How do I fix this problem so that My system boots to my xp partition?

Boot up from Windows XP installation CD and select repair. Execute fixmbr. This will remove GRUB and XP will boot up on reboot.
XP installation CD doesn't work In a few machines. In that case, download SuperGRUB CD, boot from it and select 'Fix Windows Boot Loader' option from the list.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
