problem using xmms

Hi..
I installed redhat 8.0 recently. My sound card works perfectly. when i click the play button on xmms I get a box for loading files. When I select the files to play and then click Ok the box goes. However nothing plays. Whenever i click on the play button i just get the load files box.
What could be the problem

no problem, you need the xmms mpeg 123 codec, go to xmms.org and download it for red hat 8.
after that, they should load fine, if not then go into xmms properties/perferences and make sure that the mpeg 123 plugin in checked off and enabled.
