    Yes you can use Knoppix 5.1.1 LiveCD. An alternative and easiest way is, download SuperGRUB CD and boot up from it. Select Fix Linux Boot Loader (GRUB) option from list.
    In case, you want to use Knoppix CD only, post the output of fdisk -l command here.
