Strange error when installing unreal tounament 2003 in linux

It goes through the installation for a little while and then at some point I get an error (the first two lines aren't a part of the error, I just wanted you to see what it was doing):

This is a very strange and seemingly random error. I haven't a clue why it occurs (der).

It seems like it can't read the CD. Check the last lines of /var/log/messages to see if the kernel has thrown any errors there.

Are you installing the dedicated server version?

I have this problem too... Noone seems to care about o3 now with 04 and mebbe 07. plaese help a poor distressed soul.....



Then again, i have a suspicion it may be a scratch on the cd. It worked on a friend's windows (vista) box but If i try the windows installer in wine it tells me i have a scratched cd....
