    Welcome to the forums!

It sounds like GRUB (the Linux bootloader) might still be installed to the master boot record (MBR).

You should be able to remove it by booting with a Windows emergency boot disk and running: fdisk /mbr

Boot with the Windows XP installation CD and from the recovery console type: fixmbr

Doing either one should rewrite the MBR allowing you to reboot directly into Windows, if Windows reinstalled properly.

If neither of those options are available to you, try using the SuperGrub LiveCD:

    Super Grub Disk Webpage: Download

It's a good tool for working with Linux, or Windows boot issues.
