Few days back i got a new Acer aspire 5310 laptop .
It's pre-loaded with lipus linux.It doesn't have GUI works only in command prompt.

[SOLVED] Unable to Install Fedora core on my New Laptop
Hi all,
Few days back i got a new Acer aspire 5310 laptop .
It's pre-loaded with lipus linux.It doesn't have GUI works only in command prompt.
When i tried to install FC on it.It says Hard disk not found
I'm having 80GB SATA harddisk.What's the problem?
Do i need to download any drivers ?

I had the same problem with an hp. What I did was to disable native sata mode from BIOS and proceed with the installation and them enabling it. your BIOS should have something similar like the one I mentioned or switch back to legacy ATA mode.

Maybe you should try a different, newer distro which is supported. FC 2 has really old kernel and possibly this kernel will not support SATA discs. A recent distro with an up to date kernel should work out of the box

Yep, FC2 was released back in May of 2004, so it might not be so good at hardware detection, especially on new hardware.
You might want to reconsider and go with Fedora 7 or 8 if possible.oz

Yes. I installed Fedora 7 ..it's installed perfectly (except sound)
