Can you change your bios settings to read the cd-rom first?

i have never installed redhat off of just floppies. but i have installed slackware using floppies to boot up with. the kernel in the floppies will then reconize the cd. i have had problems with the bios not booting up the cd before. slackware even supplies the floppies if you want to try that distro out. just go to some mirror and go into bootdisks and you will find a bunch of 1.4 MB files, just pick the apropiate one for your computer.
