    Could you be more specific with what you want? Most motherboards will work just fine with any version of Linux. I would not recommend you use Fedora 5 or 6 however as they are quite old. The newest version of Fedora is 8.

    You shouldn't have any issues regardless of the motherboard you buy. The hardware that generally gives users the most trouble is video cards, and if you stick to Nvidia you should be fine in that respect.

    Nvidia cards work very good under Linux, however if you don't want high video performance puck up a intel VGA, they also Linux compatible.

    That's true. Onboard Intel video is pretty well supported in Linux if you don't need 3D.
