Sata Hard Disk not found in setup
i have hp desktop based 915g,256mb ddrII,80gb SATA ,Winxp.when i run the setup of RHEL ES3 it shows a message No Hard disk found in your system.is SATA driver needed for the installation.the installation running fine on another assembled 915g based system.plz help

I'd say you've got 3 options:
1. Check to see if your BIOS will let you change the SATA mode from native (like AHCI) to Compatibility mode. This will allow the normal IDE drivers to see the drive.
2. Find out your SATA controller, get a driver for it, and then boot from the RHEL CD using "linux dd" so that you can add the driver during installation. Example steps here.
* Disclaimer: That thread mentions RHEL4. I don't know for a fact that these steps work on RHEL3.
3. Use a newer install of RedHat that has support for SATA controllers. Maybe Fedora Core?
