Anyone know of a downloadable direct install image?
What I'm looking for is a downloadable image that I can simply copy to an ext3 partition and install from. This kind of goes along the same lines as copying the cab files from windows 89 and doing a hard drive install from the copied image. It's an interesting query to be sure. I don't know if anyone has thought of it before which is why I'm asking now. There has to be some shell script that allows direct package copy and a way to make a disk bootable. Any information would be helpful.

If you already have an OS installed, have a look at UNetBootin, it allows you to install many different distro's from within Linux or Windows without the need for CD's.
Lubi, LVPM, UNetbootin, and Bubakup - UNetbootin
