    Hi Friend,

I tried to install Red Hat Linux 9.0, CDs brought from my friend.

I am not able to get intall RHL on it.

Initially the booting starts after 1 minute while detecting various hardwares it says CACHE line modified.

Please suggest how to install it.

    Hi pskanagaraj !

    Welcome to the LinuxForums !
RH9 is obsolete and doesn't support latest hardware. I would suggest you to install Fedora 8 or CentOS. Both are free to download/install.

Check distrowatch.com and try any distro listed in Top 10 list. Check the link in my signature too. I will get you going.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

A little more info needed on what type of computer you're trying to install on. Also, as rHL9 is quite old and outdated, I would suggest a newer disto such as Fedora 7 or 8. Both are very stable and have excellent hardware recognition.
