I have a GA-P35SD4 gigabyte motherboard. This motherboard has n't any linux driver.
during linux installation a masage appears on monitor and asks about sata driver.

it is useful if you know I was going to install Red Hat Enterprise 3.0 AS.

RH Enterprise 3.0 is pretty old at this point, most hardware problems would be alleviated in a newer version of it if you can use it. Are you attached to 3.0?

I agree with coopstah13, and recommend using a newer version of RHEL (version 3 is almost 5 years old), or perhaps use CentOS. It's basically RHEL, but with the logos stripped out, and no paid support channel. It's available for free download and has SATA support.oz

You are rigth, but I have a software, has install limitation and I can onlly install it on enterprise linux. thank you for your attention

In case you want to install RHEL 3 only then type linux all-generic-ide at boot: prompt. It works in most of machines.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I tried your method but I could not install this version yet.
I installed RHEL 5 but my software wasn't installwd on it.
