Thumbs up intel 64-bit

hi ALL

i have a intel pentium dual core inside processor...64 - bit and i want to install fc6....

which cd/dvd i have to purchase.....? i have one FC6-i386 DVD is this ok or what ?

if not tell me where i have to download FC6 for above specification....

You should install 32bit version ( i386/i686 ) only. Check this link.
I would suggest you to install latest version, Fedora 8. Download Fedora 8 DVD or LiveCD from here. LiveCD has install option too. If you dont have fast internet connection then go for LiveCD only.

You can install either a 32-bit (i386, i486, i586, i686, X86) version of Linux or a 64-bit (X86_64) version on that processor. I would recommend you not use Fedora Core 6, however. It's several versions old and you'll likely have a better experience with a newer version.

The latest version of Fedora Core is 8, which can be found here:

You do not have to purchase anything to use Fedora or most any other Linux distribution. The only reason you should purchase a physical disc is if you do not have the bandwidth to download them yourself. Even then, you shouldn't pay more than about $5-10USD for it.
