Compaq Presario 715US notebook... hdd id bit concerns
I've got one of these notebooks (circa 2002) and I'm considering whacking the drive and installing linux, sans the original os. I'm concerned about darwining my drive access though. Does anyone know if Compaq was still using the hdd id bit (or whatever they were calling it) at this stage in the game. This one was made around the time of the merger with HP.
