    Hi ALL,

    i am installing FC6 (DVD i386 )on my 8 GB jet flash ( US B drive ) and i started installing by following part ions ( by using option create custom layout )

    / 2 GB
    /boot 100 MB
    /swap 500 MB ( because my ram is 256 )
    /usr 500 MB
    /home 500 MB
    total freespace left is around 4.5 GB

    when i go to next step it will says 1848MB free space needed....

    please help me .... i need above partiation only ....ask any questions for clarifications .....

    You have assigned less space to /home partition. You have only 8GB Disk. I would suggest you to create only two partitions.
    SWAP 512MB
    / rest of free space.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    but i need those partiations.....

    and i have physical memory....256

    eventhough its giving that error ....no free space

    That error has nothing to do with RAM size. Assign a little bit more space to /usr and /home partitions.
    Why do you need those partitions? Check this link too.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    my idea is to partiation is ....

    my application will run in /usr partiation....if any corruption of file i lll take my file
    from /home partiation.....

    thats why i am using these partiations....
