clean format

how can i do a clean format from fedora 8 ? i am new to linux but willing to learn i had windows but it can go out the window i have installed fedora but i dont know if windows did get wipe out but i want windows to get wiped out so i need to format clean and then install fedora again anyone

To format needlessly is a sympton of Window'ness

You only need to format if you want to wipe a filesystem completely. But you don't even know if it's still there. So, first, let's take a look.

As root user, what does "fdisk -l" report?
