How to select the disk drive that contains linux packages
Hi
I tried to install fedora core from my hard disk using unetbooting ,during installation I have asked the following:-
Select partition and directory , on what partition holding the cd(iso 9660)images for fedora ? if you are don't see the disk drive you are using listed here, press F2 to configure additional devices
/dev/sda1
/dev/sda5
/dev/sda6
1-How I can select the disk drive(f) in my Windows OS Which contains
Fedora packages ?
2-What is cd(iso 9660)
please help.

Hi, vanpersie!
If you don't mind my asking, how many Hard Drives do you have installed in your machine? If only one, then you'll need to shrink the partition on you Windows installation. I did the same thing using GPartED. After that, try the install again, and let us know what happens.Jay

In the link you have provided it to me there are many packages of GPartEd of
various extensions , However I have downloaded gparted-live-stable , gparted-live-0.3.6-7 .zip
, when extract it a ms dos batch file called makeboot found ,When opened , the file warn me as following:-
This batch file will prepare drive F: for boot using syslinux!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------- WARNING!: ---------------------------------
Run this file from your portable USB device ONLY.
Running this file from your hard drive may overwrite your current
Master Boot Record (MBR) and render your Windows Operating System
un-bootable. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Iam afraid that my Windows OS become unbootable what do you suggest.

Sorry it took so long to reply! What you wanna do is burn the image of gParted you downloaded as an .iso... just like you would for any other distro. once this is done, pop it into your CD drive and reboot.

The problem is that my cd rom have damaged , is there
another solution?
