Ancient Computer install problems
I am currently trying to install DSL on my 13 year old Gateway 2000 with:
100 Mhz Pentium Processor
64 MB RAM
6x CD Drive
3 1/2" Floppy Drive
6.4 GB Hard Drive
It currently has Windows 98.
I made a boot disk and when i placed it in the drive and restarted, it froze in the bios and made a beeping sound every 5 seconds.
what do you think is the problem and how can i fix it?
i want to completely remove windows.
Thanks

hi,
what bios do you have?
you need to go to the bios maker homepage(if ever the bios maker does care about that bios anymore as its a very old one) and check the bios beep code to see what the error isLinux and me it's a love story

How did you burn CD? .iso images are bootable by default. Select Burn Image to Disk option in your CD Burner package. Do not create bootable CD.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
