Prb in installing app in redhat on virtual Pc

Hi
I am new to Linux. I am running redhat on virtual pc. When i try to install tar files in terminal window using the commands,
./configure - it runs completely.
but when i run the
make
command it show the error as - No Target specified no Makefile found.

Thanks in advance.

hi,

did you read the installation guide?
because obviously a Makefile is missing.
if you cant find any installation guide(or README file) tell us which version of Redhat are you running and which application are you trying to install.
does the Redhat system have access to the net?(because if its the case and its not an old unsupported Redhat you might consider installing with yum)
