    Question Internet doesn't work after installation of linux..

    I have installed Ubuntu version 8.0 in addition to xp....
    after the installation everything seemed to be perfect except the internet..
    it wasn't working..
    i use broadband connection and have a modem connected to my machine..
    it works on xp but not on linux...
    need help!!!!!

    do you have the driver for the modem installed?

    run the following to see if your card is being detected
    Code:
    ifconfig
