    need gcc/xemacs on an eee pc 1000 HELP!!

    the asus machine came tonight, pre-loaded with xandros a form of windows like linux, but without any of the tools I need on the machine.

    I am learning c for work, I need to write simple programs on xemacs and compile and run them. where can I find the components that I need to work this version of linux, and indeed can I use the eee pc for this? it has a 40 gig drive so space isn't an issue.. just utility. Please help.

    I'm guessing they should work with the eee. Some of the other links there should be helpful as well.
