FC9 has latest kernel and these kernels assign sdx device name to all type of Storage Medias. There won't be any hdx in any Linux from now on.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Well, I'm to the point now when I try to run chkdsk /r d: I get the following:
I've run Test Disk and it tells me the MFT is corrupt. I've done A LOT of Googling and there appears to be no way to rebuild or recover a MFT is the MFT and mirror are both bad. I plan take what data I can off the drive tomorrow, format it and test the drive health with Maxtor tools. However, if you have any last minute suggestions of how to rebuild the MFT, I would be ever so grateful!Code:The type of the file system is NTFS. Unable to determine volume version and state. CHKDSK aborted.
