    the initramfs problem...?


    pls help me with this problem

    i downloaded " ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386 " from the net...
    i ran the wubi application and it installed ubuntu on my pc on e drive....
    and i have xp on my c drive....
    i have a 250 gb hard disk and five partitions.........
    now when i boot my pc i get two operating systems to cling onto...
    one is my xp and the other one which i installed ie ubuntu..........
    when i choose ubuntu it takes me to the screen
    busybox v1.1.03 ......
    initramfs

    what should i do please help.....
    i tried removing the quiet splash but still nothing happened....
    plz help....

    Did you shut down XP properly? I've heard of this problem occuring on machines where Ubuntu was installed with Wubi, and XP wasn't fully shutdown (i.e. it was hibernated instead of powered down).

    yeah i shut down my pc properly after installing ubuntu...
    still it aint workin right
    plz help....
    is it not workin cuz i have installed it on some other drive rather than c drive which has my xp
