Redoing Acer laptop
want to put linux on an acer aspire 5315 laptop and was wondering what would be a good build to use. I've used mandrake a little on an old desktop, but not enough to know if it would be a good build for it. the specs are intel celeron 2.0 1gig ram 80 gig hdd. thanks for your help

Hi, Soth! Welcome to LinuxForums!
That CPU and a gig of RAM should be able to run most of the modern distros without to much of a problem. Pretty much anything near the top of the list on Distrowatch should do well for you.Jay

And to elaborate a little on jayd512 suggestion, Live CD version, i386, is a good way to go to see if everything will work.

Soth, you will get better results with your wireless problems by posting a new thread here Wireless Internet - Linux Forums
There are some really good forum wizards there that know their wireless.Linux Registered User # 475019
