Installing in RAID 1+0: Bootloader issue
I'm very new to Linux and thus have learned this the hard way. I have an MS2N 32 Asus motherboard with four Raptor 150 GB hard drives set up in RAID 1+0.
I bought the SuSE 11.0 "Bible" that came with an installation disc that purported to automatically install the OS. Every time I tried to install it, it failed. After much cursing I discovered that it failed at the point of writing to the bootloader in the RAIDed partition. Once I wrote to it manually, it installed just fine.
I'm writing this because I didn't find it in your database and that it might save the next poor newbie some anger management.
